The AOH Michigan State Board has been directed by the AOH National Board and our Worthy President, Jack Meehan, to appoint an AOH State Chairman for Veterans Affairs. The AOH State Board, meeting prior to the “High Holy Days” in an Executive session, appointed Brother Terence “Terry” Murray, to that Office. Brother Murray served with the Irish Army and in that capacity served in a combat Unit, as a member of Irelands UN Forces in Lebanon, in the 80’s. He further serves as a Member of the Honor Guard, VFW Post4357, Brighton. That Unit cover’s the Wednesday services at the United States Military Cemetery, Holly Michigan, each week of the year.

Upon his appointment, the first project that he has for the AOH State Board to become involved in, will be a partnered sponsorship of the MOVING WALL - The Vietnam Veterans Memorial. That display will be coming to Brighton Michigan September 11, 2008 through September 15, 2008. It will also mark the seventh anniversary of the attack on the USA that resulted in the deaths of over 3000 Americans, including 300 “First Responders” from the City of New York Fire and Police Department. This is a huge honor for the AOH, as well as the VFW / American Legion “Spirit Center” in Brighton.

I am asking each AOH Division to compile a listing of EVERY BROTHER who served in this Nations Armed Forces, in any capacity and to send that list to Brother Murray. Additionally, please circulate the date of this event, so as to insure the greatest possible attendance at this Memorial Event.
